Childrens Qualified Behavioral Health Paraprofessional-CLIMB

Qualified Behavioral Health Paraprofessional (QBHP) is needed for our year-round intensive outpatient children's counseling program called C.L.I.M.B (Children Learning and Implementing Mindful Behaviors).  The QBHP will work in an evidence-based conscious discipline program for children who may be struggling emotionally or behaviorally in their current childcare environment or in an intensive outpatient program. The program focuses on emotional and behavioral regulation, family support and academic growth. Up to $20.00 per hour depending on experience and degree. 

The CLIMB program is for children who may be struggling emotionally or behaviorally or with trauma related issues in their current childcare environment or in school. Staff is trained in Conscious Discipline, which is an evidence-based treatment intervention that teaches children the social, emotional, and communication skills necessary to manage themselves. Each child is assigned a mental health professional and qualified behavioral health professional that will work with them daily on their personalized treatment goals. The length of treatment can be 6 months to one year or longer depending on the complexity of the case. QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Training and/or Experience)

  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred but will also look at experience and qualifications needed for the position.
  • Working knowledge of and ability to use personal computer for e-mail and electronic medical record.
  • Must pass a background check. 
  • Clean Driving Record 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop treatment plans. 
  • Maintain accurate documentation and confidential client records. 
  • Regular attendance at work is a requirement of this position. 
  • Experience working with children and families who may be in crisis
  • Understand the role of cultural competence in working with the target population, their families and providers.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform essential functions of this job. The employee must have the ability to use a computer as required. The employee must be able to communicate with others in an understandable manner. The employee must be able to operate standard office equipment. There is a moderate level of activity including moving throughout the building occasional moving of light equipment involved in the position. Regular attendance at work is a requirement of this position.
