Front Offce Support/FCM

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in basic computer applications.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is a plus, but not required.

POSITION GOAL

Providing excellent customer service to clients and visitors at reception, scheduling appointments, processing intakes, data entry, error-handling, switchboard operating, obtaining referrals, verifying insurance, collecting and processing payments, and performing various administrative support functions for one or more OBHAW offices or programs as specified in established performance indicators.

KNOWLEDGE AND APPLICATION OF:

Schedule intake appointments (examples are):

a) Completing referral form

b) Verifying insurance coverage and/or Medicaid eligibility prior to appointment

c) Verifying prior OBHAW admissions, finding or assigning case number, and notifying medical records

d) Obtaining PCP referrals as needed

Keeping client demographic and financial information up-to-date (examples are):

a) Adding and deleting flags and comments as needed

b) Keying updated information completely and accurately All client financial and demographic information will be refreshed at each visit

c) Keeping Accounts Receivable informed of changes in client eligibility

Serve as receptionist and switchboard operator (examples are):

a) Greeting clients and visitors and checking them in.

b) Scheduling return appointments and giving client appointment card

c) Answering incoming calls on multi-line phone system in a friendly, professional manner by identifying company and self.

d) Routing calls or delivering an accurate messages in a timely manner

Processing payments as (examples are):

a) Collecting co-payments, co-insurance, deductibles, and any fees for services 99% of the time

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have the ability to use a computer as required. Must be able to communicate with others in an understandable manner. Must be able to operate standard office equipment. Work is primarily sedentary but must be able to move through the building to access office equipment. May need to occasionally move light equipment. Regular attendance at work is a requirement of this position.
