Job Title: IT Specialist

Hours of Work: 40 hours per week

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Job Summary

Provides technical support and maintenance for the organization's information systems, hardware, and software in a behavioral health setting. Ensures reliable system performance, supports clinical and administrative staff, and maintains strict compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare regulations.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Essential Functions

- Installs, configures, and maintains computers, printers, and other IT equipment.

- Assists in maintaining system uptime and performance to minimize disruptions.

- Monitors systems for security issues and supports implementation of security measures.

- Maintains inventory of IT equipment, including tracking warranties, licenses, and service agreements.

- Supports electronic medical records system, shared drives, and other organizational systems.

- Ensures the privacy, security, and integrity of OBHAW data in accordance with HIPAA requirements.

- Assists with onboarding/offboarding of employees, including account setup and access management.

- Provides recommendations for equipment upgrades and replacements.

- Documents issues, resolutions, and system configurations.

- Stays current on technology trends, tools, and compliance requirements.

- Attends meetings and participates in training as required.

Required Skills / Abilities

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong focus on providing excellent customer service.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Office 365) and general office equipment. Ability to quickly learn job-related software.
  • Knowledgeable in AI and current software tools.
  • Strong critical thinking skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel to the office daily, or as required by the supervisor.
  • CPR, First Aid, Handle with Care, and Verbal De-escalation are not required for this position.

Education and Experience

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or similar field required.
  • 1-3 years of IT support or help desk experience preferred.
  • IT certifications preferred.

Physical Requirements

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Must have the ability to use a computer as required. Must be able to communicate with others in an understandable manner. Must be able to operate standard office equipment and move equipment weighing up to 50 lbs. Must be able to position self in order to perform maintenance and/or install equipment, including under desks. Occasional exposure to outdoor weather. Regular attendance at work is a requirement of this position. Able to travel within the five-county catchment area and to conferences/training as required.
